Technology at Smalls Road Public School
Our school has access to a wide variety of technology to enhance their learning. Some of our resources include:
- High quality Wifi throughout every learning space
- 4 interactive screens in every learning hub, including 3 portable screens
- iPads and laptops in every classroom, with approximately 1 device to every 3 students in 2020
- Robotics- including Bluebots and Ozobots.
- Purpose built spaces for Green Screen and recording studio
Our staff are involved in the Microsoft Schools Transformation Project in 2020, with a Microsoft Innovative Educator and Apple Distinguished Educator on staff to ensure our technology platforms are effectively used to enhance student learning and engagement.
Online safety and digital citizenship
Students are taught throughout the year to be safe online citizens.

Seesaw Family
All families receive a parent invitation to the Seesaw Family app at the beginning of each year. Tour the family app here

How to sign up for Seesaw Family
Download 'Seesaw Family' from the App Store or Google Play Store. Don’t have a smartphone? Sign up on a computer at app.seesaw.me.
Tap 'Create Family Account' and scan the QR code that was handed to your child or that has been emailed to you. Make sure it says your child's name at the top. If you do not have a code please contact the school.
Create your account to see your child's journal! Make sure to allow notifications to get real-time updates about new posts.
How to add another child to your Seesaw Family
Using the QR Code:
Sign in to your family account.
Tap your profile icon (top left).
Tap “+ Add Child's Journal”.
Scan the QR code for your other child.
Using the Sign Up Link:
Follow the link on the handout or email.
Choose your child from the list.
Click the "Sign in" tab, instead of creating a new account.
Sign in to your account.
Your child's teacher will need to approve your connection, and once they do, you'll see all updates.
Wushka

Wushka
Students use Wushka as a digital home reading program to support our physical home reading program. Books are levelled and assigned by the class teacher each week.
Wushka is included in each year's Term 1 statement of fees- technology.
The number of books and days they are assigned are decided at the beginning of the school year and communicated to families at our Term 1 meet the teacher evening.

In 2020, we have been trialling Reading Eggs with our students. Logins were sent out at the beginning of the school year.

Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365
As a school, all staff and students use Microsoft 365 as our primary application for teaching and learning.
Students will use Microsoft Teams, Microsoft OneNote and other Microsoft applications in their class to support their learning and record their understanding.
